The Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen is currently recruiting for a Projects Supervisor to lead the provision of community service related projects and initiatives in accordance with the organization’s strategic priorities.
Qualifications:
- Two-year diploma in project management, planning, landscape architecture, environmental science or related discipline.
- Minimum of five (5) years of related experience preferably in a local and /or regional government setting. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience including contractor coordination.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) designation is an asset.
- Knowledge of IAP2 Canada principals is an asset.
- Knowledge of legislation and regulations applicable to regional districts is an asset.
- Working knowledge of WorkSafeBC regulations and requirements.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with committees and a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to plan, implement and evaluate programs and projects.
- Ability to prepare consultant contracts and requests for proposal/quotes.
- Strong organizational and planning skills.
- Ability to work on a number of concurrent tasks with deadline pressures.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive matters with discretion and integrity.
- Demonstrated computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, and Excel). Experience with mapping software and AutoCAD would be considered and asset.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Valid BC Driver’s Licence
This regular, full-time position is included in the BCGEU bargaining unit. The hourly wage for the position is paygrade 9, $46.86 January-June ($47.33 July-December) and is eligible to participate in the flexible scheduling initiative.
