Construction Project Coordinator

ROLE OVERVIEW: The Construction Project Coordinator works with and assistants the Project Managers.
REPORTING: This position reports to a designated Project Manager.
OPERATIONAL / PRODUCTION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in creating and maintaining construction schedule
- Assist in obtaining quotes and tenders for construction projects
- Assist in creating and monitoring of construction budgets
- Input quotes and accepted quotes into budget database
- Ability to read and input project schedules in Co-Construct
- Take telephone calls to resolve issues and trade queries
- Order materials together with site staff
- Perform and attend site visits and site meetings
- Arrange for, record, and account code trade invoices on a timely basis
- Keep detailed records of dates, drawings, documents, and correspondence for projects
- Maintain good working relationships with suppliers
- Provide 5-star hotel style customer service
ADMINISTRATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Report hours worked on Actitime
CORPORATE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide input to content for company newsletter and blog
- Maintain company standards
- Support and maintain company objectives
- Promote company culture
- Participate in company events and programs
SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Good knowledge and understanding of building codes and by-laws for wood frame structures an asset
- 2-5 years fulltime experience with using AutoCAD / Revit for architectural drafting an asset
- 2-5 years experience working with spreadsheets and databases
- Ability to proactively schedule and plan for upcoming tasks
- Knowledge of the principles of architecture, modern building construction methods and materials for single family wood frame structures
- Good knowledge of the terminology, methods, practices and techniques of construction
- Have a good sense of design and aesthetics
- Ability to understand construction drawings
- Good knowledge of the processes of construction and stages for inspection with clear understanding of milestones and critical paths
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with personnel, clients, and trades
- Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with a diverse range of people and job functions
- Ability to motivate and influence people to action
- Minimum High School diploma with Vocational trade training or BCIT Building Technology diploma or equivalent
