Administrative Assistant - Economic Development

Position Summary
Reporting to the Manager of Economic Development, the Administrative Assistant – Economic Development is responsible for providing administrative support to the ECDEV team. This role will contribute to and support services the ECDEV team provides such as sharing business opportunities with TFN government and member businesses and providing access to TFN Members to help them become successful entrepreneurs, or create their own small business.
Specific Responsibilities
Communications:
- Website updates working with an external web developer
- Email newsletter creation and distribution
- TFN Community notice advertisements and communications
- Monitoring emails and responding to emails professionally
- Creating and coordinating marketing material content
- Communicating with TFN Members in a respectful professional manner
- In person, phone and email communications with TFN Members
Data Management
- Compiling information on business opportunities within TFN’s Territory
- Compiling summary information in Excel
- Saving info to SharePoint to be shared with external representatives
- Reporting on financial and non-financial metrics from joint ventures such as contract values and employment hours generated
- Other duties as required
Qualifications
- Two to three years of related experience or a combination of experience and education in a related field
- Demonstrated business acumen and analytical skills
- Strong multi-tasking and organizational skills
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
- Successful completion of satisfactory Criminal Record Search
