Primary Role: Second Cooks assist the Head Cook and First Cooks to prepare menu items and smaller meals such as hot lunch, ensuring quality, quantity and timing.
Qualifications:
· FoodSafe Level 1 (required)
· Post-secondary education in culinary arts preferred
· Red Seal or Red Seal apprentice preferred
· WHMIS preferred
· First Aid Level 1 preferred
· Minimum of 2 years of experience cooking in high volumes preferred
· Must be able to pass a drug and alcohol test prior to employment and work/live in a drug and alcohol-free camp environment for up to 4 weeks at a time.

Responsibilities Include:
· Prepare items as required by the Head Cook including soups, vegetables, sauces, casseroles, pastas, salads and salad dressings, vegetarian entrees and meats
· Prepare hot lunch or other secondary meals as needed
· Ensure quality, presentation and timing is met on all items
· Assist with overseeing kitchen staff activities
· Assist with dishwashing and kitchen cleanup as needed
· Assist with unloading and proper storage of grocery orders
· Ensure food safety standards are met and maintained at all times
· Ensure workspace, storage areas and kitchen are clean, organized, and sanitized
· Practice safe work procedures and rectify or report any safety hazards immediately
· Adhere to all safety policies and procedures as per task, equipment usage, or PPE requirements
Starting Wage: $18.50/hour plus overtime, 12 hour days
