About the Opportunity 

The Quality Assurance Advisor works closely with the Manager of Quality Assurance and the Directors of Programs to ensure the supports provided to the Supported Individuals of CLS are continuously reviewed and evaluated for effectiveness and relevance. The incumbent supports the review and reporting of each CLS program to ensure that a high quality of life is pursued for Supported Individuals that is based on sound, collaborative planning, and that communication relative to this goal is maintained with the Supported Individual's personal network.

The Quality Assurance Advisor supports continuous quality improvement and improved practices that meet or exceed all accreditation standards and applicable legislation.

 

Specific Accountabilities

  • Quality Assurance:
    • Assists in the maintenance of quality assurance through the ongoing auditing and review of required documentation for CLS programs and Supported Individuals.
    • Review, audit and provide feedback on CLS programs and programs requirements by conducting Program Audits, Individual Documentation Audits, Accessibility Plans, Aging and Abilities Screening, Property and Fleet Annual Administrative Review, and other as assigned.
    • Work collaboratively with Directors of Programs to support follow-up and escalation when concerns or program specific matters arise.
    • Actively work with Leaders providing feedback on documentation requirements in ShareVision and best practices within the program in alignment with reviews conducted including, providing coaching, advice, support, and audits where necessary.
    • As part of the ongoing Quality Assurance focus, keep up to date on any new initiatives and methods of support that are in keeping with the vision of CLS and that are intended to improve the quality of life of Supported Individuals.
    • In conjunction with the Director team, Leaders, ensure proper protocols for Supported Individuals are in place and monitored.
  • Compliance and Accreditation:
    • Working closely with the Manager of Quality Assurance or designate on overall compliance in support of the accreditation process and ongoing continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Health and Safety:
    • Promotes health and safety of the organization through active participation in the CLS Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee.
    • Support health and safety regulation compliance through Emergency Drills, Semi-annual Workplace Inspections review and follow up.
    • Works with the Director of Policy and Practice on health and safety initiatives including policy development, emergency preparedness practices and implementation, and identification of organizational trends.
  • Planning and Goals:
    • Regular and consistent report out on progress on audits and administrative reviews, goal development and goal success.
    • Utilize the 8 Quality of Life domains, to support the development and facilitation of Person- Centered goals for Supported Individuals, with an emphasis on a person-centered approach.
    • Ongoing review and support with Supported Individual, employee teams and networks to ensure timely accomplishment of annually required audits and reviews, including goal progress and support strategies (including documentation).
  • Students and Volunteers:
    • In collaboration with the Manager of QA, HR and the Director team, oversight and accountability for the student and volunteer program within CLS, including the recruitment, placement and onboarding.
  • Projects:
    • Work closely with the CLS Management team and Directors on the effective support, development and planning of organizational projects including:
      • Identified strategic initiatives that serve to improve the quality of lives of Supported Individuals.
      • Organizational transformation projects.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong working knowledge and experience in the support of individuals with disabilities.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher, or equivalent experience in social services, psychology, counselling, business or other closely related area.
  • Strong understanding of and commitment to the principles and values associated with community living for people with disabilities.
  • Sound working knowledge of applicable government legislation, ministry regulations, and accrediting body policies.
  • Excellent process, organizational, written, and verbal communication, interpersonal skills are essential.
  • Commitment to principled and values-based decision making and building collaborative team relationships.
  • A Criminal Record Search, TB Test, Doctor’s Note of Health, valid Class 5 Driver’s License are required.
  • Access to a car for business use.

 

Hours: Permanent Full Time (Some flexibility required)

  • Wage: Salaried role
