About the Opportunity

As a member of the management team, the Property and Fleet Manager plays a key role in the organization’s operations, working closely with and collaborating with Directors, external stakeholders, Leaders and Staff.

This position is accountable for the leadership of, development and maintenance of proactive processes for property and fleet management to support our community living objectives.

Through sound, collaborative planning and fiscal accountability this position will ensure the proper use and maintenance of the property and fleet resources used by the Society in support of individuals.

This management position supports the broader CLS community and is considered part of the Senior Management team. It has one direct report. 

 

Specific Accountabilities:

 Property Management

  • Develops, leads, and manages the execution of the CLS property plan.
  • In collaboration with the Executive team, develops short and long-term asset management and property maintenance plans.
  • Manages the maintenance schedule, develops property reports, and ensures overall compliance related to property maintenance and asset management.
  • Contributes to the organization’s annual planning process relating to property management
  • Management of lease and tenancy agreements (ongoing and new)
  • Manages relationships with property related external parties (such as regulatory bodies, insurance brokers, landlords, property management companies, contractors, tradesmen, and suppliers) as necessary.
  • Participates in emergency responses relating to damage and destruction of CLS property owned or rented and acts as a representative of CLS in community and on strata, as necessary.

 Fleet Management

  • Develops, leads, and manages the execution of the CLS fleet plan
  • In collaboration with the Executive team, develops short and long-term fleet management and maintenance plans.
  • Manages the maintenance schedule, accidents and/or damages to fleet, develops fleet reports, and ensures overall compliance related to fleet maintenance and management.
  • Contributes to the organization’s annual planning process relating to fleet management
  • External vendor and stakeholder liaison including with ICBC, insurance brokers, and Human Resources.

People Management

  • Oversees one team member, delegating workflow, communicating goals, and following up on internal / external inquiries.
  • Monitors the quality of work and adherence to project plans and provides feedback on the degree to which operational standards are met.

Other

  • Assists with property and fleet training for staff, stakeholders, or external partners as appropriate.

  

What You'll Need to Succeed... With your attention to detail and strong ability to prioritize, you will be able to navigate a fast paced environment and competing priorities all while maintaining a positive demeanour. We are a collaborative team committed to open communication, making strong communication skills a necessity. Our ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in a related management position with some operational experience, coupled with sound knowledge of applicable legislation, ministry regulations and property management. Public relations and negotiation skills are an asset. You will be a team player that conveys our strong community culture in your interactions with all parties. You possess a valid Class 5 Driver's License, have access to car for work purposes and will satisfy a Criminal Record Search.
