Chief Operating Officer (COO)

The COO will oversee and support the effective operation of all Band businesses while seeking new business opportunities for the Band.  The COO will develop and maintain the strategic and Operational plans for the OIBDC and implement them.    This position will work closely with the Chief Executive Officer to oversee all business operations.  The COO will work closely with the Corporate Controller, Human Resource Director, and the Communication & Marketing Director to ensure business runs in an efficient professional manner.  The Chief Operating Officer will utilize the Board Advisors and seek advice or opinions on current business opportunities to be taken to the Board for Approval.

  • Identifies opportunities with outside agencies/ government grant/funding to implement projects within OIB/OIBDC. Ensure the reports are all finalized within the submission of the grant funding.
  • Develop and implement new business strategies for creating or improving processes and procedures to improve corporate performance.
  • Represents the organization at the Board of Directors level.

Lead and direct program development, work culture enhancement, consensus-building, and internal communications.

  • Manage, motivate, and mentor all company managers as specified by the organizational chart.
  • Works with the Corporate Controller in managing project budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial plans; ensure corporate adherence to annual budgets.
  • Regularly reports to the CEO on the company's status and ability to meet its operational objectives.
  • Ensure proper reporting structure within and between all business units and/or departments.
  • Meet regularly with department heads/business unit leaders; facilitate resolution of issues/problems between business units and/or departments.

 

Minimum Qualification Requirements:

  • University degree in Business or Finance; an MBA, CPA, or CMA designation is preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years experience within a multi million-dollar organization in progressively more responsible positions.
  • Effective leadership skills, with a strong focus on operations and business processes.
  • Strong knowledge of fiscal management and responsibility, business finance, capital funding, contracts, and partnerships.
  • Familiar with INAC (Indian Affairs) land leasing
  • Travel Required

Start Date : Open until filled 

Workdays: Monday to Friday with evenings and weekends when required 

Hours of Work: 50 hours weekly    

Term of Employment: Full Time (2-year contracts with renewal) 

Pay Rate: $93,600.00 to $135,200.00
