GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain upkeep in organization and maintenance of the tool crib area
- Assist the Purchasing and Shipping/Receiving Divisions
- Fill sea-cans and/or job boxes before they are shipped to a job
- Complete inventory of sea-cans and/or job boxes when they return, ensure all equipment is accounted for
- Clean tools; check for any necessary maintenance
- Perform minor repairs (i.e. replace plugs on extension cords, replace handles on grinders, etc.)
- Identify tools that need to be sent out for repair and review those lists with the Supply Chain Supervisor
- Ensure the tool crib is maintained in an orderly fashion with tools put away on shelves/in bins
- Perform all duties in compliance with corporate safety policies and procedures
- Complete regular inventory cycle counts when requested
- Deliver/pickup goods to/from vendors/customers, as requested
- Process all required paperwork to maintain adequate records
- Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures regarding shipping and receiving to provide backup assistance to the Shipper/Receiver
- Assist with loading and unloading of goods from trucks and sea-cans
- May operate forklift, hand truck, overhead crane, or other equipment to load, unload, transport, and store goods
- Perform other duties as required by the Supply Chain Supervisor and Shipping/Receiving department
Basic Requirements:
- Minimum two (2) years of experience in a warehouse environment would be considered an asset, but not required
- Any safety-related or equipment training certificates would be an asset, but not required (i.e., Forklift)
- Class 5 driving license required
- Ability to commence full-time (40 hours/week) work from the beginning of May until the end of August
- Ability to understand and follow directions
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to communicate clearly, both written and verbal
- Ability to handle competing priorities simultaneously
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
- Ability to work well alone or in a team setting
- Possess a positive and professional attitude, set a high standard, and convey professionalism at all times
Note: The Tool Crib Labourer – Summer Student position is deemed a safety-sensitive position and applicant must successfully complete a pre-employment drug & alcohol test as a condition of employment. This position will require work boots that meet the minimum position standards.
