We're on the hunt for a Housekeeping Manager who can keep our backstage areas squeaky clean and make our toilets shine brighter than a diamond-studded guitar. We need someone to lead, develop, and manage all things housekeeping at our venue, keeping everything top-notch. You’ll be the biggest cheerleader for our standards, rallying and inspiring your team along the way.

 

Who are we?

The Motorpoint Arena Nottingham is the biggest entertainment venue in the East Midlands. Showcasing the biggest names in music, comedy, and sport and with a seating capacity of up to 10,000, we are one of the most versatile entertainment venues in the UK.

 

The National Ice Centre (NIC) sits within the same complex. Made famous by Olympic legends and Dancing on Ice stars, Torvill & Dean, the National Ice Centre is Nottingham’s hub for all things ice skating and ice hockey.   We are the home of the Nottingham Panthers Ice Hockey team and host around 30 games a year.

 

2025 is a bumper year for our venue with us welcoming Peter Kay, Kylie, Strictly Come Dancing, Craig David, Mo Gilligan, Olly Murs, Diana Ross and the 50th Anniversary Tour of Torvill & Dean to name a few. 

 

What do we offer?

 

Full Time (40 hours per week)

25 days annual leave (excluding bank holidays)

Option to purchase additional leave.

Onsite Parking during non-event days (for around £30 per month)

Role, responsibilities and skills required.

Reporting to the Facilities Manager the Housekeeping Manager is responsible for managing the housekeeping team and ensuring our building is presented to a high standard.

 

Whilst managing the housekeeping team, the Housekeeping Manager will continuous review and improve our housekeeping systems, operations and service delivery to enhance the overall experience of our customers.

 

Line managing a team of Team Leaders, the Housekeeping Manager will oversee recruitment, training, development, performance reviews and all other HR related procedures.

 

They will produce monthly staff rotas in line with staffing budgets and maintain accurate records of working hours, absences and sickness.

 

The Housekeeping Manager will be responsible for producing and reviewing relevant risk assessments, including COSHH, and safe working procedures.  Ensuring that staff adhere to uniform and PPE protocols and comply with health and safety policies.

 

Via continuously training and developing the housekeeping team the Housekeeping Manager will ensure that their teams meet operational standards of excellent and best practice.

 

With BICS or equivalent qualifications, IOSHH Managing Safely and IPAF the ideal candidate will also hold a qualification in First Aid.

 

With proven experience in a housekeeping or facilities management role (ideally within a venue or hospitality environment), they will have strong leadership skills, with the ability to manage, motivate and develop a diverse team.

 

They will have excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.

 

An excellent problem solver, they will have strong communication skills and the ability to maintain a positive relationship with staff, customers and management.

 

Experience of managing budgets, rotas and the procurement process would be an advantage.

 

Flexibility is key, due to the needs of our venue the role will involve working early mornings, late nights, weekends and bank holidays.
