The Opportunity
Reporting to the Director of Communications & Marketing, the Associate will support the development and implementation of comprehensive communication and marketing plans and initiatives that support the School’s overall strategic plans and the Advancement Office’s departmental goals.
Operational Effectiveness
- Supports the marketing and communications team in increasing the school’s visibility through storytelling, promotional content and materials, social media, brochures, e-newsletters, website blogs, etc.
- Assists in the development and execution of a comprehensive marketing and communications strategy.
- Assists in developing evaluation and measurement tools regarding communication activities. This includes managing and evaluating the Pay-per-click (PPC) data to enhance marketing efforts.
- Monitor the school’s social media presence and engage in online community relations.
- Identify and resolve any issues with promotional content in a timely and professional manner.
- Supports with gathering and editing content, photos, and video materials for school wide communications.
- Collaborates with the website specialist with regards to digital/online planning and strategy.
- Assists in the preparation and distribution of all forms of communication to the parent and alumni communities. This includes collaboration with appropriate school authorities to decide who, where, and when to disseminate information through email communications (primarily through Finalsite).
- Researches and writes stories for the School’s e-newsletter, print publications and online social media channels.
- Works with various internal staff and faculty to understand their messaging needs for communications and publications, helps them to position their message within the school community and, where appropriate, the community at large.
- Manages the booking of external adds (i.e. MacLean’s Magazine, OurKids booklet).
- Proofreads, edits and formats communications regularly.

- Participate fully as a member of a team and contribute to a positive work environment.
- Support the team by continuously developing knowledge in own area.
Qualifications/Skills/Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent, with a college or university degree preferred, or an acceptable combination of education and relevant experience.
- Demonstrated skills, knowledge and experience in the design and execution of marketing, communications, and public relations activities. Including social media platforms.
- Must have excellent writing and editing skills.
- Possess a solid understanding of effective marketing and communication techniques and strategies.
- Strong understanding of industry trends, benchmark metrics and ways to improve marketing efforts.
- Strong creative, strategic, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Computer literacy in word processing, page layout, and online applications.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to deal with internal and external audiences.
- Strong time-management with the ability to manage multiple projects at a time.
