Fortis Mining, Engineering & Manufacturing is currently recruiting for the position of Industrial Painter. The Industrial Painter’s primary responsibilities are preparing surfaces and applying coatings to protect and enhance the appearance of machinery, equipment, and structures. This role involves working with various types of paints and coatings, ensuring high-quality finishes while adhering to safety standards and protocols. Successful completion of a pre-employment drug and alcohol test will be required as a condition of employment.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Clean, sandblast, and prepare surfaces for painting by removing old paint, rust, and debris
- Apply primers, paints, and sealants using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment
- Inspect finished surfaces for defects and ensure adherence to client specifications and industry quality standards and best practices
- Maintain and clean painting equipment and tools to ensure optimal performance
- Keep accurate records of materials used, job completion times, and any issues encountered
General
- Follow safety guidelines and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to minimize risks
- To deal courteously with customers, vendors, and co-workers, displaying a professional conduct and appearance
- Promote a positive, team-oriented environment
- To be able and willing to travel as a requirement of the job
- Perform other duties and tasks, as assigned
- Provide other support to the department and company, as required
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
- Previous experience as an industrial painter or in a similar role is required
- Knowledge of painting techniques, tools, and equipment
- NACE/AMMP certifications would be considered an asset
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License is required
- Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent
- Strong focus on quality and precision in work
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks and work in various environments, including heights
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) is considered an asset
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with team members and supervisors
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Strong time-management skills; ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize multiple responsibilities
- Possess a positive and professional attitude, set a high standard, and convey professionalism at all times
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test is required
