Fortis Mining, Engineering, and Manufacturing is currently recruiting for a team player to fulfill the role of a Welder/Fabricator. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Working with and supporting the welding/fabricating crew in productivity and efficiency
- Ability to work independently as well as be a team-player
- Ensure safe work practices are followed at all times
- Identify and support opportunities to improve efficiency and quality
- Prioritize work and follow direction
- Utilize the appropriate tools and methodologies
- Ability to read blueprints, fit, fabricate and plan for the most efficient weldments
- Ensure reporting completions and results are done accurately and in a timely manner
- Assist in investigating potential quality issues brought forth by customers, whether internal or external
- Assist the Lead Hands and Supervisors as required
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate must possess:
- 2-3 years of previous experience
- CWB Certification preferred but not required
- Must be able to perform all welding functions at an acceptable level
- Must have Fitting/Fabricating Experience
- Must be knowledgeable in the use and operation of all hand power tools
- Must be able to read and understand shop drawings
- Must be capable of working under minimum amount of supervision
- Has good understanding in proper use and care of jigs
- Able to effectively communicate
- Flexibility to adjust to shifting priorities and deadlines
