1. OVERVIEW
C.E.S. Engineering Ltd is a multidisciplinary engineering company established in 1999. The company operates in provincially registered offices in Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto and Montreal.
C.E.S. Engineering Ltd has been providing comprehensive commissioning and performance engineering services for over twenty years. Our mission is to provide optimized, documented facility and systems operation using our core services: Total Building Commissioning, Performance Measurement and Verification, Retrofit Design, and Energy Analysis and Modeling.
We are seeking energetic, dynamic people to join our Toronto office to take on a leading role in the management of construction projects throughout the GTA and other areas of Ontario. Projects range from mixed-use residential, commercial, through to complex and specialized institutional, healthcare and process facilities.
2. PRIMARY JOB DUTIES
Project management for the Total Building Commissioning process (Architectural, Mechanical, Electrical and Communication systems) on sustainable building projects throughout western Canada.
- Chairing and minuting commissioning meetings with installing contractors
- Management of multiple projects in parallel
- Commissioning Plan and Schedule preparation
- Design reviews of mechanical and electrical drawings and specifications
- Pre-functional and functional test forms development
- Field Reviews to witness and document on-site test procedures
- Investigating problems, diagnosing/repairing faults
- Liaising with designers, contractors, and equipment vendors
- Managing internal engineering and technical resources to support project deliverables
- Report preparation
- Review and support development of training plans for maintenance & operations staff
3. EDUCATION
A bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering preferred.
4. CREDENTIALS
(certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.)
Preference for EIT registered with PEO.
5. EXPERIENCE
3+ years experience in building Mechanical, Electrical, IMIT / Communications, or Building Science (Envelope).
6. CORE SKILLS
It is essential for all applicants to possess excellent interpersonal, leadership, management, and technical communication skills.
Applicant shall be commercially aware and capable of working well under pressure within a team. Strong written english skills and confident interpersonal communication skills are of particular importance, as the position involves construction site meetings and reporting to contractors, design consultants, owner representatives and other project stakeholders.
Relevant technical expertise (mechanical or electrical testing, design, and/or operations experience in buildings/facilities) is also a major asset.
7. VALUE ADDED SKILLS
- Microsoft Project or similar software
- Experience in automation / control systems for commercial or industrial applications
- Project Management Professional (PMP)
- Passive House (CPHD)
- LEED AP
