 About the Opportunity

Currently, Bellwyck is looking for full-time Warehouse Lead - Shipper Receiver for the day shift based out of our Toronto, ON location. 

 About the Role

The Warehouse Lead - Shipper / Receiver is responsible for leading activities related to the receiving as well as warehousing of inbound shipments.  Ensures the prompt and safe unloading of incoming shipments.  Coordinates the systematized storage of finished goods and/or stages for Production.  Participates in the annual inventory audit and conducts other interim audits as required. Provides day-today direction to the Shipping/Receiving/Warehouse Material Handlers.  Provides back-up to the Logistics Supervisor. 

 What You Bring to the Team

 

  • At least 3 years’ Receiving/Warehouse experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.  Able to provide direction to the Warehouse Team as well as to present a professional and courteous manner in all dealings with internal & external customers & suppliers. 
  • Experienced at supervising, motivating, coaching and developing a diverse team of employees.
  • Strong organization and planning skills.  Ability to prioritize work.
  • Analytical skills to assess problematic situations.  Strong decision-making skills in pressure situations.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction.
  • Mechanical aptitude and dexterity to operate a fork truck. (Licensed).
  • Strong computer skills, including the ability to use a variety of software programs (e.g. Microsoft Office, custom mainframe programs, shipping/receiving software, etc.)

 

About the Job

 

  • Job Responsibilities

    • Organizes Receiving and Warehouse work flows. 
    • Reads and understands packing slips.  Executes shipment according to requirements.
    • Assigns day-to-day tasks to the Shipping/Receiving/Warehouse Material Handlers.
    • Receives returned product from the Customer as directed by Customer Service and as per the specifications outlined on the Return Goods Authorization Form.
    • Inspects trucks’ cleanliness and compliance with GMP/standard operating procedures and records inspection 
    • Reports any damages, quality or other issues to Quality and/or the Production Supervisor.
    • Ensures the Receiving Dock and Warehouse areas are maintained in a clean and organized fashion.
    • Undertakes associated paperwork in a timely and accurate manner ensuring accuracy of inventory counts.
    • Ensures dual verification of all outgoing shipments and dual sign-off on packing slips.
    • Maintains information on Warehouse quantities, locations, damages etc.  Prepares reports as required.
    • Participates in annual and other inventory checks.
    • Provides back-up support to the Logistics Supervisor job function.
    • Responsible for adhering to housekeeping practices.
    • Must follow GMP, Quality, and Health & Safety procedures.
    • Responsible for quality inspections of incoming raw materials, i.e. confirmation of adherence to specification, signs of contamination, correct type and size, etc.
    • Adheres to Quality Standards and SOP’s including the raw material release function.
    • Raises quality issues/concerns directly to the Quality Manager, or, to the Logistics Supervisor for appropriate action and decision-making.
    • Responsible for other duties as required.
