About the Opportunity

We are currently recruiting a Membership Clerk to join our team in Cranbrook, BC. The Membership Clerk is responsible for maintaining the ʔaq̓am ʔit̓qawxawiȼikimik ʔaq̓amnik̓ kituqⱡiⱡqaⱡ (Membership List), managing membership-related correspondence and applications, assisting both the Membership and Appeals Committees in fulfilling their mandates, and advising the ʔaq̓am Chief and Council of any additions or deletions to ʔaq̓am Membership. The Coordinator also acts as an advocate and liaison for new and existing members by guiding them through ʔaq̓am, provincial and federal government policies and processes and connecting them to Nation-specific benefits or programs. 

This position requires strong organizational, communication, and recordkeeping skills, as well as a commitment to confidentiality and the values of the ʔaq̓am. The position also requires a strong understanding of ʔaq̓am’s customary practices, values and traditions.

Your key responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

  • Maintaining the ʔaq̓am Membership List
  • Committee Support and Coordination
  • Member Advocacy and Liaison

More About You

In order to qualify for the the Membership Clerk, you must hold a grade 12 diploma, two years administration experience, and a Diploma in Business or Administration would be an asset. Proof of a clear criminal record including vulnerable sector check.  Provision of a clean driver's abstract and a Valid Class 5 driver’s license.

Salary will commensurate with experience from a range ($50,683-67,000) and includes a favorable benefits package and pension plan.

Preference will be given to candidates of Ktunaxa or other Indigenous ancestry and ʔaq̓am encourages applicants to self-identify within your application.
