New Directions is a social service agency offering a wide range of resources and services that foster people’s hopes and dreams in their communities.
Shift Staffed Homes (SSH) provides 24/7 support to individuals living in community residential homes who live with intellectual disabilities and may experience complex mental and/or physical health issues. The Resource Administrator will be the main contact for in-home invoices and quotes, administrative and office support functions, as well as front end reception with the SSH service area.
What you will do:
- Provide administrative, reception, data entry and clerical services, requiring knowledge of different reporting mechanics, compliance requirements, internal/external procedures.
- Participate in the development of service area specific policy and procedures.
- Order and maintain office supplies, protective equipment and select house supplies.
- Maintain and update files and client data base.
- Assist in developing and executing internal efficiencies to ensure a streamlined and well-functioning day-to-day work environment.
- Assist in processing invoices, including a range of internal/external transactions with our service providers.
- Assist in developing and editing a variety of internal forms.
- Attend SSH specific meetings and record minutes.
- Assist in maintaining our SSH specific SharePoint site.
- Participate in the On Call Rotation
What you will bring:
- Completion of high school (or grade 12 equivalent) and additional business administration training from a recognized college or institution.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in administrative roles that handle confidential information.
- Strong computer and data entry skills, with a minimum 60 w.p.m. typing in Microsoft Word, proficiency with Microsoft Excel and the full Microsoft Office Suite, and the ability to continuously learn new database processes. Experience working with SharePoint (or similar) and PowerPoint is considered an asset.
- Defined remote work space/home office with access to reliable internet service
- Ability to self-manage time and balance work in order to meet strict timelines for the completion of tasks and competing priorities.
- Strong organizational skills, a keen attention to detail, and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
- Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills and a demonstrated ability to be diplomatic in handling all situations.
- Effective problem-solving ability and excellent customer service skills.
- The ability to work independently and as a part of a team.
- Knowledge of FASD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Mood Disorders, Anxiety Disorders, Intellectual Disabilities, and mental health disorders is considered an asset
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with access to a vehicle
The salary range for this full-time, 70-hour bi-weekly position is $18.31 to $24.72 per hour, dependent upon education and/or experience. A full benefits package (which include Health and Dental Benefits, Long Term Disability Benefits, and a Pension Plan) is provided to regular full-time staff.
The successful candidate will be subject to Criminal Record, Child Abuse Registry, and Adult Abuse Registry Checks. The successful candidate may also be required to complete computer and administrative skills testing.
