The Company

B2Gold is a low-cost international senior gold producer headquartered in Vancouver, Canada. Founded in 2007, today, B2Gold has operating gold mines in Mali, Namibia and the Philippines, a mine under construction in northern Canada and numerous development and exploration projects in various countries including Mali, Colombia and Finland. B2Gold forecasts total consolidated gold production of between 860,000 and 940,000 ounces in 2024.

Position

Information Technology (IT) Administrator, Edmonton.

Location and Reporting Structure

Reporting to the Manager, Information Technology this position will be based in the Edmonton office, AB.

Responsibilities

Manage and maintain hardware and software systems, including servers, workstations, networking equipment, and peripherals in the Edmonton office;
Provide technical support to employees, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and resolving technical problems in a timely manner;
Install, configure, and maintain software applications and operating systems;
Monitor system performance and security, implementing measures to optimize performance and protect against security threats;
Set up and maintain network equipment, including routers, switches, and wireless access points;
Perform routine maintenance tasks such as system updates, antivirus scans, and data backups;
Document technical procedures, configurations, and troubleshooting steps; and
Provide remote support to the onsite IT team.

Desired Competencies and Requirements

Three (3) years’ experience in Information Technology, supporting both a local group and a remote site;
Post Secondary Diploma / associate’s degree in computer science, Information Technology or a related field;
Certification in relevant technologies, such as CISSP, CCNA or CCNP, is considered an asset;
Experience with routing, switching and wireless technologies. Proven experience with Windows Server systems virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V and enterprise IT infrastructure; and
Familiarity with cloud computing platforms such as AWS or Azure.
