Position

 

Coordinator, Warehouse, Nunavut 18-months contract  

 

Location and Reporting Structure

 

Reporting to the Superintendent, Supply Chain this is an 18-months temporary position and a fly in- fly out 3x3 rotation based in Nunavut, Canada.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Load and unload aircraft, trucks, and vehicles, complying with industrial procedures and safety regulations;
  • Perform receipt, inspection of materials, and completion of receiving documents per established procedures;
  • Support the implementation of new ERP systems, programs, and procedures to improve operations, mastering innovations quickly;
  • Prioritize and expedite the receiving of critical shipments; Record and report damages and discrepancies of delivered materials promptly;
  • Perform data entry into ERP or Microsoft systems from receiving documents;
  • Arrange and ensure adequate storage conditions for materials and equipment;
  • Provide information on defective, inoperative, or expired materials and equipment as soon as identified;
  • Strap and sling freight prepared for shipping in compliance with safety regulations;
  • Ensure operability and report failures of technical devices, loading & lifting equipment, containers, and packages for freight transport
  • Issue materials according to the established procedure and assist end users in identifying required material;
  • Control personnel access to warehouse premises and escort unauthorized personnel;
  • Participate in continuous stock-taking of warehouse materials and cycle counts. Conduct regular cleanups to maintain warehouse premises and storage areas in a clean and organized manner;
  • Conduct scheduled inspections of all areas, identify problems, and perform corrective actions; and
  • Ensure hazardous material management is enforced using inventory/hazardous material storage processes, procedures, and policies.

 

Desired Competencies and Requirements

 

  • Three (3) years' relevant experience in Material Handling, Warehousing, Logistics and Expediting in a remote mine environment with limited access to resources required. Knowledge of mine process equipment and underground mining equipment and materials considered an asset;
  • Diploma in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related required;
  • Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) and WHMIS certification required; Forklift and Telehandler certification required; and
  • Previous experience using SAP, ERP, Microsoft Suite with a comprehensive understanding of inventory management and warehouse processes required.

 

 

Compensation and Benefits

 

For informational purposes, the estimated annual earnings are $110,929.00 for 2184 scheduled hours (combined regular hourly rate of $40.25 and overtime rate of $60.38) in a work year.
