Founded in 2007, today, B2Gold has operating gold mines in Mali, Namibia and the Philippines, a mine under construction in northern Canada and numerous development and exploration projects in various countries including Mali, Colombia and Finland. B2Gold forecasts total consolidated gold production of between 860,000 and 940,000 ounces in 2024.

 

Position

 

Expeditor, Edmonton - 17-months contract

 

Location and Reporting Structure

Reporting to the Logistics Coordinator, this position is based in Edmonton, Canada.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Contact vendors, place orders, and verify supplies, ensuring communication with suppliers for accurate delivery dates;
  • Drive a cargo van to collect and deliver orders to the consolidation point, ensuring timely delivery to the end user;
  • Communicate with end users and assess supply vendors, ensuring that delivered supplies meet quality standards;
  • Monitor delivery timelines, check work quality against company requirements and specifications, and ensure compliance with regulations. Inform the Logistics Coordinator of any delays immediately;
  • Participate in the receiving and inspection of materials, equipment, and supplies, and immediately communicate any discrepancies or damages;
  • Consolidate purchase orders at the transit warehouse if required, and help prioritize and expedite critical shipments to meet production and project schedules;
  • Check invoices to verify alignment with purchase orders and contract terms, enter all required shipping transactions into the ERP system, and maintain accurate records of orders, shipments, and deliveries. Create reports as requested by the Logistics Coordinator and end users; and
  • Identify potential problems and take proactive steps to prevent delays or issues. Perform other duties as assigned by the Logistics Coordinator.

 

Desired Competencies and Requirements

 

  • Five (5) years’ experience in an Expeditor role or related required (mining or heavy industry environment preferred);
  • Diploma in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related required;
  • Certified Forklift operator and a valid driver’s license is mandatory; and
  • Familiarity with SAP or any other ERP systems is an asset.

                               

Compensation and Benefits

The starting annual salary for this role is $97,000.00.

 B2Gold Nunavut offers a competitive compensation package, including salary commensurate with experience, knowledge, and skills, plus a group benefits package for employees and their dependents.
