The Company

B2Gold is a low-cost international senior gold producer headquartered in Vancouver, Canada. Founded in 2007, today, B2Gold has operating gold mines in Mali, Namibia and the Philippines, a mine under construction in northern Canada and numerous development and exploration projects in various countries including Mali, Colombia and Finland. B2Gold forecasts total consolidated gold production of between 860,000 and 940,000 ounces in 2024.

Position

Superintendent, Internal Audit, Edmonton

Location and Reporting Structure

Reporting to the General Manager, Goose Site, this position is based in the Edmonton Office, Canada.

Responsibilities

• Plan audit activities, including identifying key risk areas, determining audit scope, and developing audit plans;
• Conduct thorough evaluations of internal controls, operational processes, and financial systems to identify areas of risk and opportunities for improvement; Evaluate the design and operating effectiveness of ICFR at the Goose Project;
• Lead the review of financial records, operational processes, regulatory compliance, and internal controls through documentation review, interviews, and testing to ensure effectiveness and adequacy;
• Assess the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls to mitigate risks related to financial integrity, operational efficiency, and compliance with laws and regulations;
• Prepare audit reports that highlight findings, recommendations, and actionable insights for management's consideration;
• Track the implementation of audit recommendations and monitor progress to ensure that corrective actions are effectively addressing identified issues; and
• Foster positive relationships with stakeholders across B2Gold Nunavut, including management, staff, external auditors, and regulatory bodies.

Desired Competencies and Requirements   

• Seven (7) years' experience in internal or external audit; with preference for public practice experience with a national firm with a focus on mining, construction, production or heavy industry;
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or Business Administration; A Master’s degree would be an asset;
• Professional accounting designation is required (CPA CA preferred); and
• Prior experience with SAP, S/4HANA or 4CP

Compensation and Benefits

  For informational purposes, the starting annual salary for the role is $150,000.00 plus 15% Bonus
