About the Opportunity  

Kobelt currently has exciting opportunities for motivated CNC Programmer/Machinist/Technicians to join our team in Surrey, B.C., on a full-time basis. The work schedule will be Monday-Thursday, 10 hours from 2:00PM to 12:00AM.

In this role, you will support production machining operations, working closely with the machining team and reporting to the Operations Manager and team lead. You will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC equipment to ensure high-quality, on-time production, with increasing autonomy on the afternoon shift.

While no two days will ever be the same in this pivotal role, your more typical responsibilities will include:

  • Meeting or exceeding work order due dates for scheduled production
  • Setting up and operating CNC machines to ensure readiness for production
  • Fabricating and maintaining machine tools and fixtures for production needs
  • Interpreting engineering drawings and work orders to produce conforming parts
  • Ensuring machined components meet quality and specification standards
  • Maintaining traceability of materials and parts through proper documentation and markings
  • Completing NCRs and quality records accurately and in a timely manner
  • Issuing and receiving inventory accurately within work orders and ERP systems
  • Troubleshooting machining and production issues as they arise
  • Following all safety procedures and company policies at all times
  • Supporting the development of standard operating procedures and process improvements

More About You

To qualify, you will need post-secondary education in Machining (or equivalent hands-on experience) and the ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings. A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a machining or CNC manufacturing environment will also be essential.

Additionally, the following skills and background will be highly valued:

  • Red Seal Machining Certificate
  • Experience with CNC programming and CAM software such as Mastercam
  • Strong understanding of CNC machining processes, tooling, and materials
  • Knowledge of GD&T and ability to interpret complex technical drawings
  • Experience working in a Lean Manufacturing and ISO 9001 environment
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and basic Microsoft Office tools
