Owyhee and the Duck Valley Reservation

Live and work where open country, fishing, and a close community shape everyday life. Owyhee sits within the Duck Valley Reservation, where time off can mean casting a line at Mountain View, Sheep Creek, or Lake Billy Shaw, camping near the reservoirs, or heading to the East Fork Owyhee River. Day-to-day life is supported by Owyhee Combined Schools, a Community Education Center, local businesses, recreation programs, and the Owyhee Community Health Facility, with Elko and Mountain Home both about 90 minutes away when you want extra shopping, errands, or a change of scene. The calendar stays full with powwows, sports, barbecues, and gatherings that bring people together. There is momentum here too, with Sho-Pai advancing its first resort and casino project to create jobs and help fund education, health care, housing, and other local priorities.
