In this position, you will be responsible for driving consistent production execution, optimizing manufacturing processes, and leading the production team to achieve output targets within a heavy plate fabrication environment.

More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Overseeing daily production operations, with a consistent presence on the shop floor
  • Maintaining disciplined production planning and workflow to support stable production schedules and minimize disruption
  • Developing and implementing practical process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce waste
  • Leading, coaching, and supporting the production team, fostering accountability, engagement, and consistent performance
  • Ensuring quality standards and safety requirements are met across all fabrication and production activities
  • Managing inventory, shipping, and receiving to support uninterrupted production flow
  • Identifying and resolving production challenges in real time, addressing issues before they impact delivery
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to align production priorities with customer requirements and business objectives
  • Monitoring costs and operational performance, contributing to improved efficiency and profitability

About You

To qualify, you will bring a strong background in metal fabrication or heavy manufacturing, ideally within a heavy plate or attachment fabrication environment, with hands-on experience progressing from the shop floor into a lead, supervisory, or production management role. Experience in formal operations or production management is valued; however, candidates stepping into this level of leadership with the right shop-floor experience and capability will also be considered.

The following skills, certifications, and qualifications will be highly valued:

  • Expertise in manufacturing operations, ensuring efficiency in scheduling, quality control, and inventory management
  • Ability to read and interpret fabrication and production drawings, supporting clear communication and execution on the shop floor
  • Understanding of welding, fabrication, and production equipment (e.g. press brakes, CNC, drilling), with the ability to support workflow and problem-solving on the shop floor
  • Demonstrated ability to lead through change, optimizing workflows, refining processes, and driving continuous improvements
  • Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations, ensuring compliance within the fabrication environment
  • Proven leadership ability, with a coaching mindset that fosters accountability, engagement, and performance across diverse skill levels
  • Proficiency in MS Office and project management tools
  • Hands-on exposure to fabrication or production environments in a leadership or support capacity (asset)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field (asset)
  • Professional certifications in PMP, Six Sigma, or Lean Manufacturing (asset)

As our ideal candidate, you are a hands-on, floor-focused leader who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You lead by example, spending time on the shop floor to understand workflows, support your team, and address challenges as they arise. You balance firm decision-making with a supportive, coaching approach, helping individuals at different experience levels succeed while maintaining production discipline.

This is a high-impact leadership role that requires structure, consistency, and resilience. Your ability to maintain stable production cycles, anticipate challenges, and drive practical improvements will play a key role in strengthening day-to-day operations and supporting Accurate Fabricating’s continued growth.
