About the Opportunity

Red Design is currently seeking an Intermediate Interior Designer to join our team in Vancouver, B.C.

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing projects from initial concept through to construction-ready drawings. You will collaborate closely with our team, focusing primarily on commercial design projects, while also occasionally supporting our sister company, which specializes in single-family design-build projects.

Key responsibilities:

  • Developing models and detailed working drawings using advanced expertise in REVIT and proficiency in AutoCAD
  • Producing accurate, construction-ready blueprints that adhere to zoning regulations and bylaws
  • Meeting project deadlines and updating status in project management software (e.g., Buildertrend)
  • Providing construction administration support, including revision sketches, site instructions, and change orders
  • Building and maintaining relationships with suppliers, manufacturers, and sub-trades to secure project materials and services
  • Preparing sketches and sample boards for presentations to clients and stakeholders
  • Collaborating with interior designers, suppliers, and contractors to optimize space utilization and construction methods
  • Coordinating with internal team members and external stakeholders to address project challenges and inquiries
  • Coordinating move management and post occupancy
  • Making site visits pre-construction and during construction
  • Working on client sites for extended periods of time for facilities management services

About You

To qualify, you will need at least 5 years of professional experience in interior design, with strong knowledge of corporate office design, building codes, municipal laws, inspection routines, and permit application processes. Familiarity with British Columbia’s local regulations and standards is a strong asset.

Additionally, you will need: 

  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in Interior Design
  • Experience in architectural drafting and design, with strong skills in REVIT and AutoCAD
  • Experience in systems furniture and modular walls
  • Part 3 Building code and accessibility requirements
  • Good sense of design and aesthetics

Moreover, the following will be considered an asset:

  • Certified as a Registered Interior Designer
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • 3D Modeling – Sketchup and Vray
