About the Opportunity

Scout Talent is working on behalf of our client, a company specializing in natural food and beverage products, who is seeking a full-time Red Seal Millwright to join their team in the Niagara, Ontario Region. Shifts are on a rotating basis of days, afternoons, and nights. Some weekend work will be required. 

Our Red Seal Millwrights are accountable for the necessary maintenance duties to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety and production maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the site’s business goals and objectives. This can include all production equipment, HVAC, mixers, conveyors, wrappers, tanks, motors, pumps, dock maintenance, building maintenance, and any other required items.

With valuable training and different levels of experience, your varying tasks may include, but are not limited to:

  • Utilize the Preventative Maintenance Program including predictive maintenance, spare parts inventory, and downtime trending by equipment and frequency
  • Assist in managing maintenance parts procurement and budget
  • Collaborate with cross-functional groups including Production, Human Resources, Quality, Supply Chain, Warehousing, and Finance to meet production targets
  • Develop, recommend, and implement measures to improve machines and plant equipment to maximize efficiency
  • Model, for the maintenance department, a strong sense of ownership and accountability. Showcase flexibility and a "whatever it takes" attitude to get the job done right
  • Assist in executing the production schedule and supply the needs of Operations
  • Ensure effective Maintenance safety procedures, tools, and record-keeping are managed through site leadership
  • Adhere to company GMPs (good manufacturing practices), safety procedures, and all other quality processes
  • Responsible for Food Safety and reporting any non-compliance issues to their immediate supervisor

About You

To qualify for this role, you will need a Red Seal Millwright certification. Experience in a food manufacturing or packaging environment is a strong asset.
