About the Opportunity
TKDN has an exciting opportunity for full-time Family Support Worker roles, based in Prince George, BC with travel to the community on a 2-week rotation.
Reporting to the Social Development Manager, you will be accountable for providing information and support for knowledge and skill development to help families gain self-reliance, utilizing a strength-based approach.
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Gathering relevant information through interviews, observations, and meetings with caregivers and service providers
- Assessing client problems, needs, and risks
- Developing and implementing intervention plans within program guidelines
- Providing support, guidance, and problem-solving to clients
- Participating in developing, modifying, and evaluating client care plans
- Conducting group educational sessions on topics related to family functioning
- Maintaining records and providing reports to the Director of Health and Wellness

More About You
To qualify, you will need a Degree in Human Services, Social Work, or Child and Youth Care. A minimum of two years experience in family support work will also be essential. A combination of education and experience will be considered.
The following are also required:
- Ability to undergo a criminal record check with vulnerable sector clearance
- Possess a valid Driver’s License & acceptable driver’s abstract
- Willingness and ability to travel in-community on a 2-week rotation
The following skills and experience will be strong assets:
- Good communications skills
- Knowledge of parenting skill development
- Case management experience
- High degree of resourcefulness, flexibility, and adaptability
- Strong morals and ethics, along with a commitment to privacy
- Experience working with Indigenous communities
- Knowledge of trauma-informed programs, covering intergenerational trauma from displacement, Residential Schools, and addiction
