About the Opportunity

Currently, Seaspan Shipyards is seeking multiple full-time Journeyperson or Red Seal Steamfitters/Pipefitters/Plumbers, to work in North Vancouver, BC. We are mainly hiring for morning shifts, with the potential of afternoon shifts if requested:

• Morning:     6:00am - 2:15pm Monday-Friday
• Afternoon:  3:00pm - 11:00pm Monday-Friday

With support from our collaborative team and state-of-the-art resources, your responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

• Understanding the functions and how to fit a variety of pipe systems 
• Demonstrating a high level of accuracy in cutting, measuring, and layout 
• Providing square and accurate cuts with a grinder 
• Working collaboratively with a welder to produce quality fit-up of pipe joints 
• Demonstrating knowledge of ferrous and non-ferrous metals and applicable welding procedures 
• Complying with service standards, work instructions, and customers’ requirements
• Conducting all types of rigging 
• Participating in up-to-date product knowledge training
• Ensuring all work is performed in accordance with local codes and regulations

About You

You are looking for a long-term career rather than the next job! To qualify, you will possess a Journeyperson or Red Seal Steamfitter/Pipefitter/Plumbing certification, with industrial construction experience preferred. 

As a valuable addition to our team, you must have excellent knowledge of piping and mechanical systems and their functions, along with the ability to comprehend isometric and P&ID drawings. You have a demonstrated passion for safety and environmental stewardship, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and the willingness to help others.
