About the Opportunity

Avalon has an opportunity for multiple, full-time Assistant Site Supervisors to join our team. This position is based at our Calgary, AB office, with the exciting opportunity to work building projects across Calgary and surrounding communities.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Assisting the Construction Supervisor with quality control at each stage of construction, documenting and communicating deficiencies to the site supervisor
  • Completing pre-occupancy quality control and touch-up
  • Performing necessary adjustments to framing, drywall, paint, or other items as required
  • Installing job locks and ensuring site and buildings remain secured each day
  • Maintaining a safe and clean job site by properly handling materials and storing them, picking up and removing all tools and equipment when not in use, and securing the job site daily
  • Sustaining safety measures such as ramps and railings. Conducting daily hazard assessments and conducting safety inspections and addressing hazards
  • Loading and unloading construction supplies from trucks, both manually and with the use of equipment
  • Adhering to and enforcing compliance with company and OHS safety policy and regulations
  • Promptly reporting incidents to the Site Superintendent or safety manager, following incident reporting procedures established by the company
  • Engaging in communication with trades, suppliers, staff, and customers through phone, email, or in person as directed
  • Supporting post-occupancy warranty and service work
  • Undertaking any other duties as required

About You

To qualify, ideally, you must have a minimum 1 year’s experience in residential construction in a supervisory role, with demonstrated experience in carpentry.

The following will be critical to successfully performing this role:

  • Knowledge of building code and safety requirements
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel, and scheduling software, such as Microsoft Project
  • Ability to lift 40 pounds
  • Excellent communication and confrontation management skills
  • Ability to work in all weather
  • Demonstrated track record of excellence in organizing and priority management
  • A clean and valid driver's license

About the Benefits
