About The Opportunity

DBM Law has an opportunity for a full-time Associate Lawyer to join our team in Coquitlam, British Columbia. This is an in-office role.

As an Associate Lawyer, you will play a key role in providing legal expertise and support to your clients. 

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Drafting legal documents, conducting legal research, and preparing briefs and pleadings
• Advising clients on legal matters, including contracts, regulatory compliance, and estate disputes
• Coordinating and filing all discovery documents involving lawyers and clients
• Representing clients in court proceedings, negotiations, and alternative dispute resolution processes
• Communicating with senior associates and partners to ensure cases are handled efficiently
• Being responsive to client needs and ensuring that you are communicating clearly with them verbally and in written communication

More About You

To qualify, you will have 5+ years of estate litigation, commercial litigation, and personal injury law practice in British Columbia or a similar legal environment. You will also need to be a member of the Law Society of BC, or able to qualify for membership without the need for articles.

The following skills and experiences are also required:

• Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Amicus Attorney, PCLaw and Primafact
• Strong advocacy and negotiating skills
• Solid practice management skills
• Ability to work closely and collaboratively in a team  
• Ability to communicate clearly verbally and in-written communication with clients
