About The Opportunity
DBM Law has an opportunity for a full-time Associate Lawyer to join our team in Coquitlam, British Columbia. This is an in-office role.
As an Associate Lawyer, you will play a key role in providing legal expertise and support to your clients.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Drafting legal documents, conducting legal research, and preparing briefs and pleadings
- Advising clients on legal matters, including contracts, regulatory compliance, and estate disputes
- Coordinating and filing all discovery documents involving lawyers and clients
- Representing clients in court proceedings, negotiations, and alternative dispute resolution processes
- Communicating with senior associates and partners to ensure cases are handled efficiently
- Being responsive to client needs and ensuring that you are communicating clearly with them verbally and in written communication
More About You
To qualify, you will have 5+ years of estate litigation, commercial litigation, and personal injury law practice in British Columbia or a similar legal environment. You will also need to be a member of the Law Society of BC, or able to qualify for membership without the need for articles.
The following skills and experiences are also required:
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Amicus Attorney, PCLaw and Primafact
- Strong advocacy and negotiating skills
- Solid practice management skills
- Ability to work closely and collaboratively in a team
- Ability to communicate clearly verbally and in-written communication with clients
