About the Opportunity
SME Industries is looking for Senior Project Managers to join their teams in Las Vegas, Nevada, and West Jordan, Utah on a full-time basis.
The project manager is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of specific assigned projects, ensuring consistency with SME’s strategies, commitments and goals. By applying professional principles, practices and techniques, the project manager leads the project management team to control project schedule, costs and performance.
More specifically, your responsibilities will include:
- Understanding project definitions, scopes, goals, and deliverables thoroughly
- Executing projects within schedule, budget, and technical performance
- Leading project planning and implementation
- Managing multiple projects at different stages of completion based on size and complexity
- Proactively communicating project status', issues, and risks to SME Industries management
- Collaborating with Assistant Project Managers, communicating requirements, managing timelines, and overseeing performance
- Following SME Industries' policies, procedures, and methodologies in order to meet stakeholders' expectations and ensure a safe work environment for all personnel
- Managing communications with concerned stakeholders, personnel, and sub-contractors
About You
In order to qualify for this role, you will have 5+ years of experience as a Steel Project Manager with an emphasis on structural and/or architectural steel projects. Completion of a Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or Construction Management would be considered an asset.
The following will be critical to successfully performing this role:
- Having strong experience with steel construction, and/or steel fabrication
- Proven track record of managing people, strategic planning, risk management, and change management
- Ability to read design documents, including construction drawings and blueprints, and familiarity with design specifications
- Ability to organize and maintain complex data, drawings, legal contracts, requests for information and answers, and miscellaneous information through a project’s completion
- Ability to develop, maintain and modify project budgets
- Ability to determine and track Cost to Completes, Change Orders and to forecast future costs
- Knowledge and understanding of general construction contract and sub-contract language
- Ability to maintain a professional relationship with clients, general contractors, engineers, field personnel, co-workers, project managers, design and detail personnel
- Knowledge of MS Word, Excel, MS Project, and Outlook
Familiarity with manufacturing production computer systems, such as FabSuite, would be considered an asset.
