Accounting Assistant, Payables

We have an immediate opening for the regular, full-time position of Accounting Assistant, Payables. The successful candidate will have a diploma in Business Administration or Accounting and hold a valid BC driver's license. Two years of experience within a local government finance department or accounting firm is required. Working towards a professional accreditation will be considered an asset. 

 

You possess strong working knowledge of financial and accounting software, including Vadim and Tempest. You will provide exceptional customer service with sound ability to deal tactfully with public and staff, and have a sound knowledge of purchasing processes and best practices. 

 

Reporting to the Manager, Financial Services, the Accounting Assistant, Payables is responsible for the accurate and efficient payment of the Regional District's vendors and suppliers, as well as providing department backup and support as required.

This is a regular, full-time position (35 hours/week) with a wage range of $33.42 to $38.40 per hour, depending upon experience and qualifications.
