About the Opportunity
The County of Simcoe currently has multiple opportunities for Registered Nurses (RN) and Registered Practical Nurses (RPN) to join our long term healthcare team in multiple locations around the County of Simcoe. We have full-time, part-time, permanent, and temporary positions available!
As a valued member of the interdisciplinary team, you will provide quality care that helps residents meet their emotional, social, cultural, spiritual and physical needs. Your duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Monitoring needs, developing, and maintaining client-focused resident care plans
- Assessing and interpreting resident's condition, reporting significant changes, and implementing appropriate interventions
- Administering medications and treatment as prescribed
- Safekeeping of drugs and taking proper care of equipment
As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will also be responsible for:
- Supervising PSW’s/HCA’s and RPN’s, assisting in their training, and evaluating their performance
- Assisting physician in diagnostic and therapeutic measures
- In the absence of the Administrator or Director of Resident Care, notify appropriate individuals in the event of life-threatening situations
As a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN), you will also be responsible for:
- Organizing and delegating duties to PSW/HCA’s on unit
More About You
To qualify as a Registered Nurse (RN), you will possess a Nursing Diploma or Degree. Experience as a Registered Nurse would be an asset, but is not required. New Graduates and those with previous clinical experience are encouraged to apply.
To qualify as a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN), you will possess a Registered Practical Nursing Diploma. 2 years of experience as a Registered Practical Nurse would be an asset, as would completion of a course in gerontology.
Our ideal candidates for the roles above will join us with:
- Current RN or RPN registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) without any restrictions
- Recent Criminal Records Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening (within 6 months)
- Proof of documented results of two-step Tuberculosis (TB) testing
- Proof of annual CPR recertification
- Previous experience in geriatrics, retirement, or in a long term care nursing facility would be an asset

Registered Nurses (RN) are rewarded with an attractive hourly wage based on skills and experience, as well as location:
Simcoe Manor, Beeton: $34.75–$49.76/hour
Sunset Manor, Collingwood: $31.68-$48.91/hour
Trillium Manor, Orillia: $35.00-$50.12/hour
Georgian Manor, Penetanguishene: $35.00-$50.12/hour
Registered Practical Nurses (RPN) are rewarded with an attractive hourly wage based on skills and experience, as well as location:
Simcoe Manor, Beeton: $29.67–$31.70/hour
Sunset Manor, Collingwood: $29.67–$31.70/hour
Trillium Manor, Orillia: $29.67–$31.70/hour
Georgian Manor, Penetanguishene: $26.96–$30.82/hour
