About the Opportunity
Airbus Helicopters Canada is an industry-leading manufacturer, and we are looking to hire an enthusiastic Project Manager to join our team in Fort Erie, O.N., on a full-time basis. A hybrid work schedule is available after a training period, with occasional domestic/international travel required.
The Project Manager is responsible for leading all activities related to new aircraft completions and supporting the sales team in quoting and completing helicopters to the specifications of Canadian customers. The PM will assist in coordinating all involved departments, establish, monitor, and revise schedules and budgets, track and manage changes, support the writing of contracts and manage their execution, and assess and manage risks.
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
- Manage (execute, define, deliver and control) Helicopter Completions Projects, satisfying overall cost, delivery, and quality targets
- Manage the Integrated Project Team consisting of Engineering, Planning, Purchasing, Operations, and/or Customer Support, among others
- Conduct contract review meetings for new aircraft completions
- Translate the executed contracts into a Statement of Work which will be distributed to the relevant departments, control revisions, and manage changes
- Monitor all aspects of the aircraft completion for compliance to contract and acceptance date
- Evaluate and challenge productivity targets and results
- Continuous monitoring of project progress and implementation of countermeasures to maintain on-time delivery
- Provide inputs to the department’s production schedule and workload planning
- Review Gross Margin analysis for new aircraft deliveries and be responsible for project budgeting
- Prepare business cases for new engineering development projects
- Coordinate Engineering, Planning, and/or Customer Support inputs for new aircraft completions, rebuild or retrofit quotations
- Conduct Pre-Contract meetings for new aircraft completions and document program risks highlighted at the quote stage
More About You
In order to qualify for this role, you must possess 3+ years of experience in project management, logistics, aviation, or equivalent, and an undergraduate degree or college diploma in Business Administration, Operations Management, Finance, or a related field.
As our ideal candidate, you are a highly resourceful team player, with excellent organization, management, and prioritization skills. You are eager to learn, while actively seeking opportunities and proposing solutions, with strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to build rapport with all internal and external stakeholders.
The following assets are preferred, but not required:
- PMI and/or PMP certification
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Project, with expert-level knowledge of spreadsheets
- Experience using SAP Enterprise Resource Planning System
- Working knowledge with Google Suite products
- Experience in identifying risks and appropriate mitigations
Above all, you have demonstrated ability to take initiative, while being highly accountable, proactive, and diligent when putting your skills to the test and building relationships.
