About the Opportunity
Scansa is seeking for a full-time Site Superintendent, Foreman, or Lead Hand to join our team in Victoria, BC. You will be working on sites throughout Vancouver Island, including Langford and Victoria.
As a key leader in the Scansa team, you will be responsible for implementing and managing day-to-day tasks for your designated construction projects in accordance with the project scope and schedule.
With support, some of your key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Scheduling and directing daily activities in accordance with the project’s contractual scope of work and high quality standards
- Managing and leading crew(s), giving mentoring and guidance, as well as understanding how to bring out the best in your team
- Effective planning and organizational skills to ensure efficient use of labour, equipment, and materials
- Implementing an incremental project schedule to ensure upcoming events are on track and are being proactively attended to
- Maintaining daily paperwork such as time cards, field reports, schedule updates and correspondence to keep the project team informed of important issues
- Promoting and maintaining a culture that values safety, health, and site cleanliness
- Conducting and/or attending pre-construction, progress and other project meetings
- Promoting and maintaining a high level of quality control in all aspects of the project
- Lead Hand: working onsite as a skilled tradesperson, as well as mentoring the tradespeople involved in the project
About You
If you're a Site Superintendent, Supervisor, or Foreman with at least 5-10 years of combined experience in multifamily residential, commercial, or infrastructure construction — TALK TO US! We would love to hear from you.
Candidates with no leadership experience but have a solid field trades experience (e.g., carpentry, concrete finishing/formwork, etc.) to qualify as a Lead Hand, are welcome to apply!
