About the Opportunity

We are currently looking for a Financial Controller to join our team in Fort St. James, BC, on a hybrid work model. This role offers residence flexibility in Prince George, Vanderhoof, or surrounding areas.

As a partner to the GM and working alongside the broader Meraki Controller team led by the Corporate Controller, your essential responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Financial Reporting: Managing all internal financial reporting (e.g., account reconciliations, accruals, adjustments, job costs reports, cash flow reporting, etc.), preparing and presenting financial reports, and working with external auditors 
  • Operational Partnering: Collaborating with the GM in creation and reporting of operational key performance indicators, developing strategy and goal-setting, and participating in planning and analysis for new business opportunities
  • Administrative Team Management: Managing a team of eight responsible for accurate and timely accounting/office tasks, training, efficiency improvements, goal setting, evaluations, recruiting, development plans, office safety, and ongoing support
  • Budgeting: Overseeing the annual budget process, including scenario modelling and analysis
  • Systems Management & Improvement: Directing the optimization of the ERP database, identifying systems/software improvements, implementation, and maintenance
  • Treasury: Monitoring cash flow, managing online banking system and overseeing of credit card management, monthly bank reconciliations, and equipment financing
  • Management of Accounting Processes: Supervising payroll, accounts receivable and payable cycles, and implementing internal controls for accounting processes
  • Insurance, Audits, & Tax: Overseeing insurance policies, claims, and annual renewals, coordinating and reviewing tax returns, processing corporate tax payments, and managing tax audits

About You 

To qualify, you must have a Certified Professional Accountant (CPA) designation and at least 5 years' experience as a Financial Controller (or related position)
