About the Opportunity

Currently, GDLS is looking for a full-time Journeyman Electrician to join their team in Lima, Ohio

You will be responsible for the layout, installation, maintenance and repair of electrical equipment and power and lighting systems in the plant, including motors, generators, transformers, controls and mechanisms, timing devices, switches, cables and conduits, communicating, recording and alarm systems.

Your duties will also include, but are not limited to:

  • Troubleshooting, repairing, and correcting complex machinery and equipment control systems, including CNC and other electrical equipment  
  • Using a variety of types of testing equipment to locate and troubleshoot electrical issues
  • Working on energized electrical circuits
  • Working with high voltage equipment
  • Performing functional testing to ensure that electricity powered or electrically controlled machines or equipment are operating according to required standards
  • Determining horsepower requirements, line loads, and material requirements for electrical machines or equipment

All work will be performed in a heavy-duty manufacturing environment.

Please note that the successful candidate will be required to commute to the office in Lima, Ohio.

About You

In order to qualify for this role, you will need a high school diploma or equivalent diploma, and a Journeyman Electrician ticket. Electricians without a Journeyman Electrician ticket will be considered if they are able to provide documentation that demonstrates 8 years of electrician experience, preferably in manufacturing or HVAC systems.

The following skills and experience are also required:

  • Demonstrated ability to read and work from blueprints
  • Must have a valid state-issued driver's license 

The right candidate must also be a US citizen capable of obtaining and maintaining a government security clearance.

About the Benefits

You will receive a starting hourly salary of $32.48. Every six months, for the first 2 years, you will receive a pay increase with a maximum hourly salary of $38.19, based on a union agreement. You will also receive the following bonuses and benefits:

  • 5% shift premium for afternoon shifts
  • 60 cents per hour bonus for participating in the teaming process
