About the Opportunity
Currently, GDLS is looking for a full-time Plant Engineer to join their team in Lima, Ohio.
Reporting to the Section Manager, the Plant Manager will be responsible for the planning, development, and coordination of engineering and construction activities with regard to facilities, utilities, layout of machines, equipment, work stations, test facilities, material handling and storage systems necessary for vehicle production.
Your duties will also include, but are not limited to:
- Managing the daily operations of the plant
- Communicating with internal and external stakeholders
- Analyzing, assessing and understanding cost, quality and scheduling requirements
- Designing and reading AutoCAD drawings
- Testing plant processes and ensuring standards of efficiency and safety are being met
- Assuring compliance with company and governmental legal regulations
- Preparing and reviewing production reports
This role will be expected to spend the majority of it's time on the manufacturing floor, outside, or in varying weather conditions.
Please note that the successful candidate will be required to commute to the office in Lima, Ohio.
About You
In order to qualify for this role, you will need a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering with 4+ years experience, or an Associate Degree in Engineering Technology with 5+ years experience.
The following skills and experience are also required:
- Knowledge of plant layout, material handling and storage techniques, and equipment and systems installation
- Knowledge of modifications, including electrical, mechanical and metal preparations
- Knowledge of OSHA health and safety, environmental, and ergonomic standards
- Knowledge of AutoCAD
Knowledge of Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing tools would be considered a valuable asset.
The right candidate must also be a US citizen capable of clearing and holding government security clearance.
