About the Opportunity
JORI is expanding! We are currently looking for a full-time Logistics Coordinator to join our team in Houston, Texas. Reporting to the Freight Supervisor, you will be responsible for helping create new processes, procedures, and developing and building carrier relations.
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Communicating with clients about shipping options, timelines, transfers, and regulations
- Organizing and coordinating ground freight for LTL, FTL, and some overseas courier services in North America
- Managing Air and Ocean Export shipments to overseas destinations to door or port
- Setting up and coordinating international shipments, including communication with the carrier, obtaining documentation, and obtaining insurance, as necessary
- Working with Customs on both northbound and southbound shipments
- Managing import LCL and Airport deliveries to inland destinations, as well as, import ocean container drayage to final destinations
- Preparing shipping documentation (bills of lading, packing lists, dock receipts, or certificates of origin)
- Notifying exporters, consignees, or insurers of shipment status
About You
To qualify, you will need at least 5 years of Logistics experience with related post-secondary training and you must have Freight Forwarding experience. Additionally, you must have knowledge of both ground and courier transportation, including costs and benefits.
In addition, candidates with strong knowledge, skills, and experience in the following will succeed in this role:
- Strong organizational skills to efficiently manage a high multi-mode file count and prioritize duties to complete tasks successfully
- Attention to detail and excellent verbal & written communication skills
- Experience using Cargowise is essential
- A valid driver's license
- Knowledge of INCO terms and Marine Insurance
- An understanding of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Teams, Excel, and Outlook
- Self-motivated and comfortable working autonomously in a fast-paced environment
- IATA DG Certified, IMO DG Certified and TDG Certified (asset)
