About the Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity available for an Intermediate/Senior Electrical Engineer/Designer to join our team in our office in Edmonton, Alberta on a full-time basis. 

As our new Intermediate to Senior Electrical Engineer/Designer, you will oversee the full cycle of various projects from beginning to end. In this role you will work closely with fellow team members, consultants, contractors, and our clients. This is an office-based job, with some field work to the different projects you oversee.

While no two days in this dynamic role will be the same, typical responsibilities will include:

• Managing multiple projects at once, ranging in scope and complexity
• Designing electric projects (using Revit, AutoCAD or other BIM collaboration software)
• Overseeing design development and technical project preparation, including quality control
• Interfacing with clients throughout the lifetime of project, to ensure final product meets expectations
• Ensuring effective communication and coordination between field personnel, vendors, and clients
• Participating in site visits to ensure projects run within agreed timelines and budgets
• Preparing proposals and technical reports, addressing any issues identified
• Mentoring and coaching junior engineers to assist with their professional development 

More About You

In order to qualify for this role, you'll have a Degree in Electrical Engineering or a diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology from a technical school such as SAIT or NAIT, along with 8-10 years of work experience in electrical designing and building consulting. For this role, you must possess proficient operating knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit.

Previous work in managing, supervising, or leading a small team, would be ideal. Leaders with an entrepreneurial spirit and an interest in shaping the future of M+B, with the desire to grow with us — this role is for you!

The ideal candidate will bring the following skills and experience:

• Ability to design electrical projects using AutoCAD and Revit is essential for this role
• Project Managing and the ability to prioritize competing tasks while overseeing multiple projects at once
• Preparing and leading client meetings and negotiations
• Ability to coach and mentor junior staff to help them develop their skills
• Desire for continuous learning and development
• APEGA registration or other province equivalent (asset) 

Furthermore, you will join us with excellent communication skills in both written and verbal form. You are able to work effectively both in a team environment and independently with minor supervision, while possessing impeccable interpersonal skills to guide the client experience.
