About the Opportunity
John Brooks Company currently has two exciting full-time Technical Sales Representative opportunities, both in our Pump department!
- Technical Sales Representative in the Maritimes (Territory: Atlantic Canada – with the ideal candidate being based out of Nova Scotia/New Brunswick)
- Reporting to the Sales Supervisor
- Technical Sales Representative in Quebec (Territory: Laval, Mauricie, Quebec City, & Lac St-Jean)
- Reporting to the Regional Sales Manager
Travel will be up to 75% day travel and approximately 10% long-distance travel to customer & supplier sites (overnight travel as required).
Our Technical Sales Representatives are responsible for providing field technical sales support to customers of John Brooks Company in various markets and industries. The successful candidates will be responsible for consultative field sales activities — both generating new business and closing sales opportunities, necessary to maintain and grow business for Pump products. Our Technical Sales Representatives are responsible for overall customer satisfaction, while meeting or exceeding the territory sales and profitability targets.
Your main responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Providing top quality field technical sales support to customers for pump products and systems
- Prospecting, generating, and qualifying sales opportunities and leads within sales territory
- Managing and servicing existing client base, while establishing and maintaining professional relations with new customers
- Conducting sales calls/meetings with existing customers; discussing new opportunities, cross-selling products, and closing orders
- Visiting customers to review products and applications, evaluating and recommending custom pump solutions to suit individual needs
- Managing CRM; creating, submitting, and updating statuses of all proposals, quotations, and customer inquiries in Maximizer
- Liaising regularly with internal team members; providing product and system technical support, and assisting with proposals
- Representing the Company in trade shows; conducting professional technical presentations, and promoting core products
About you
In order to qualify for these roles, you must have at least 2-3 years experience in a technical, industrial, or mechanic sales role, and posses a College Diploma or Certificate in a related field. You must also have proven industrial or technical/mechanical experience, as well as a valid Driver's license.
The ideal candidate will be personable and possess proven sales skills, specifically with industrial, engineering, or mechanical products, as well as previous experience working with customers to establish their needs and find a solution that is mutually beneficial. Working knowledge of fluid handling equipment would be a big asset, but is not required.
The following will help you succeed in this role:
- Ability to Advanced computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel)
- Working knowledge of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software
