About the Opportunity

Currently, GDLS is looking for a full-time Facility Project Manager to join their team in Lima, Ohio

The Facility Project Manager will be responsible for leading the Program Control Office, and working collaboratively with the Facility Department to set overall project implementation schedules and priorities. A key task will include communicating with other departments to ensure project deliverables are understood and established. This task will involve setting milestones, tracking progress, and forecasting critical events.

Your duties will also include, but are not limited to:

  • Developing, managing, and coordinating critical milestone schedules to ensure projects are aligned to schedule need dates
  • Preparing and presenting weekly and monthly progress reports on project status, success and issues to GDLS Management, Division and Government employees 
  • Maintaining daily contact with Plant Engineers and Maintenance to address routine challenges to the work scope
  • Managing the infrastructure, planning, and execution of projects encompassing all facility disciplines within a large-scale heavy manufacturing environment
  • Interfacing with Management and the Union to determine outsourcing needs based on resources and schedules
  • Identifying obstacles to project schedule and developing solutions to mitigate risks to cost, schedule, quality, and performance
  • Creating and maintaining comprehensive project documentation
  • Working with Maintenance and Engineering for resource availability and allocation of material and manpower to ensure on-time project completion
  • Liaising between Plant Engineering, Maintenance, and Supply Chain to ensure successful project plan, execution, and completion
  • Ensuring Notice of Completions are submitted in a timely fashion to the Government for final acceptance of project completion
  • Managing individual and team contributions in pursuit of overall facilities' goal achievement
  • Engaging in facilities management team strategic planning
  • Supervising employees and outside contractors who construct, maintain, and repair utilities systems, buildings, and deploy equipment
  • Participating in contract proposals, reviews estimates of production costs, performance requirements, and delivery schedules
  • Coaching teams to high-performance, business-based decision-making

Please note that the successful candidate will be required to commute to the office in Lima, Ohio four days a week.

About You

In order to qualify for this role, you will need a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Technology, Operations or Construction Management. You will also need 7+ years experience in a facility project management role.

The following skills and experience are also required:

  • Proven ability to effectively manage projects
  • Experience handling multiple large projects from planning, scheduling and budget development
  • Demonstrated ability to build teams and promote a productive team-based environment
  • Demonstrated excellence in leadership and communication, especially when interfacing with internal and external customers as well as management
  • Ability to set priorities and multitask to meet business critical requirements and schedules
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Word, and Excel
  • Experience providing engineering leadership and maintenance/facilities management
  • Working knowledge of ISO 14001 and Preventative/Predictive Maintenance Systems 

Knowledge of Autocad and Microstation would be considered an asset.

The right candidate must also be a US citizen capable of clearing and holding government security clearance.
