About the Opportunity

As we continue to grow, Kuenz America has an exciting opportunity for an Industrial Electrician to join our team in Atlanta, Georgia, on a full-time basis. This is a permanent position that operates on a rotating schedule of 12-hour shifts from 6am to 6pm, or 6pm to 6am, with a convenient compressed work-week model.

As our new Industrial Electrician, you will perform mechanical and electrical maintenance and troubleshooting work on our gantry cranes. You will be responsible for the efficient operation of motors, drives, PLC, and safety equipment, along with other components of our cranes. You are also tasked in maintaining a safe working environment at all times.

While no two days in this fast-paced role will ever be the same, typical responsibilities will include:

  • Monitoring, scheduling, and documenting preventive maintenance on equipment
  • Providing troubleshooting on equipment problems (electric, mechanic)
  • Working with PLC (Siemens) for troubleshooting and maintenance
  • Working from prints and plans to repair, maintain, and install equipment
  • Replacing electrical and electronic parts and hardware when needed
  • Researching and requisitioning machine parts as required
  • Troubleshooting, installing, and repairing hydraulic components
  • Performing required facility Safety inspections

More About You

In order to qualify for this role, you'll have a minimum of 3 years of electrical and mechanical equipment experience in an industrial environment. You must have the ability to perform numerous complex mechanical and electrical detail work in a timely and accurate manner, and have solid troubleshooting skills.

As our ideal candidate, you will bring the following skills, experience, and physical attributes:

  • Proficient computer skills and familiarity with PLC software (Siemens Step 7, Siemens TIA, or similar)
  • Electronic diagnostics of PLCs, AC/DC drive systems, various types of computer operated control circuitry including working with voltages up to 480V
  • Great communication skills and the ability to create working relationships with people in different departments, as well as outside vendors
  • Physically fit with the ability to stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, stoop, grasp, and reach
  • Able to lift and carry up to 50lbs, push 100 lbs, and pull 75lbs
  • Have good hand/finger coordination and the utilization of color vision
  • Spend large periods of the day outdoors in an industrial environment, with exposure to noise and debris 
  • Able and willing to work in heights up to 100ft

Furthermore, you will be a reliable team member who is able to perform tasks and proactively come up with solutions to arising problems with minimal supervision, while contributing to the success of the team by helping out in a variety of tasks and being open to work extra shifts/overtime when needed. Your commitment to safety and the proper use of safety equipment and clothing is also paramount in this role.
