About the Opportunity 

Currently, Friesen Drillers is looking for multiple Assistant Drillers/General Labourers to support various projects in the Steinbach, MB area on a full-time basis. Travel will be required on occasion. We are also hiring for the following locations (please indicate in your application process where you are interested in working): 

  • Brandon, MB
  • Emo, ON
  • Regina, SK
  • Chilliwack, BC

As one of our new Assistant Drillers/General Labourers, you'll assist with all aspects of the well drilling process. This entails loading the truck and drill rig with all necessary supplies and equipment and driving the support vehicle to the site. The assistant driller assists the driller in the drilling operations by manoeuvring drilling equipment, hauling material and supplies, taking samples, and taking part in vehicle maintenance responsibilities.

More specifically, your responsibilities will consist of:

  • Assisting in material and supply loading, unloading, and load securement
  • Hauling supplies and equipment, and setting up drills/equipment on site
  • Handling sampling equipment and providing samples to clients
  • Handling augers and other drill tooling
  • Assisting with equipment maintenance and repair (including tool maintenance)
  • Cleaning equipment and keeping work area clean and free of hazards
  • Maintaining a clean and organized truck and drill
  • Inspecting all equipment and tools before use, and following all safety standards
  • Participating in hazard assessments, inspections, and safety meetings

More About You 

In order to qualify for this role, you must be physically fit, with a Class 3A or 1 driver's license. Candidates must be able and willing to work outside in varying weather conditions and environments, with a commitment to learning and training.
