About the Opportunity

We are growing and are currently looking for a full-time Financial Controller to join our team in Kelowna, BC

As an integral member of our leadership team and reporting directly to the General Manager, the Controller is responsible for overseeing all financial and accounting functions, as well as assisting with forecasting activities.

More specifically, your responsibilities in this role will include but are not limited to:

  • Leading full cycle accounting operations and reporting while ensuring full compliance of all regulatory, taxes, and legal obligations relating to the financial operations
  • Managing full-cycle account duties, including daily transactional input and record-keeping, including sales, inventory, job costing, AR, AP, and payroll
  • Monitoring the financial performance of the company, including revenue, profit & loss, etc.
  • Maintaining a solid credit and collection process and managing cash flow including all banking and credit facilities
  • Developing and implementing long and short term company financial planning, including assisting in the preparation of company financial forecasting and projections
  • Managing and controlling all regulatory filings to the CRA and all other agencies
  • Developing and maintaining effective and efficient workflow policies and procedures
  • Evaluating processes, and tasks while seeking opportunities for increased effectiveness and efficiency
  • Preparing and presenting all monthly, quarterly, and annual financial and management reporting to all stakeholders
  • Working closely with an external accounting firm on the annual audit and assisting with the preparation of budgets and forecasts
  • Compiling and providing analysis of financial reporting packages and presenting to the Board of Directors and Senior Management team
  • Overseeing the preparation of comprehensive year-end financial statements and tax returns
  • Some travel may be required

About You

To qualify, you will need a minimum of 5 years of full-cycle accounting, with some proven abilities in a leadership or supervisory capacity in a small to medium-sized companies.

In addition, the following skills, experience, or background will be highly valued for this role:

  • Post-secondary education in finance, accounting, business administration, a similar field, or equivalent experience
  • End-to-end accounting practices, including journal entries, bookkeeping, financial analysis, and reporting
  • CRA and WCB best practices
  • Accounting software programs (e.g., Quick Books or similar platforms)
  • CPA Designation (asset)
  • Manufacturing, production, industrial, or related industries (asset)
  • Client-facing customer service (asset)
