About the Opportunity
Due to an exciting period of growth, Etera Construction Management currently has an opportunity for Project Managers to join our team in Victoria, BC, Saskatoon, SK, or Calgary, AB on a permanent, full-time basis.
This is a great opportunity for a Project Coordinator or Junior Project Manager to advance their career in construction. You will be directly responsible for the planning, management and execution of assigned construction projects with the objective of enhancing profitability, productivity and efficiency; meeting schedules, safety standards and requirements as established by the client; and achieving client satisfaction objectives.
To succeed in this role, you will provide personal leadership and create positive relationships with all internal and external stakeholders, in order to maximize project performance and results.
Some of your essential duties and responsibilities will include:
- Providing leadership within the corporate safety program to maintain excellence in safety performance
- Participating in client meetings, reviewing plans, and resolving engineering and architectural conflict in details and constructability
- Preparing construction schedules and project timelines, progress, and monthly reports
- Managing project activities throughout its lifecycle, including the allocation of adequate resources, scheduling, documentation, and budget
- Tracking all project costs to ensure completion within budget, while maintaining a high level of quality
- Ensuring all contractual issues are resolved and dealt with in a timely manner
- Acting as the primary liaison with the Site Manager, sub-trades, and suppliers; resolving any arising conflicts courteously
- Maintaining good rapport with clients, building a relationship on excellent communication and trust
- Performing additional assignments as required
More About You
In order to qualify for this role, you will need a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in construction, including a minimum 1 year as a Project Coordinator or Junior Project Manager. It is imperative you have experience in construction within Canada and are familiar with relevant building codes and practices. Please note that for this role, you will require a clear criminal record check. Proficiency using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.) and email, and the ability to use relevant software, are also required.
As our ideal candidate, you will have some post-secondary education in a technical field or similar. You will join us with a solid understanding of all construction trades and techniques, along with effective management, delegation, planning and leadership skills. You have a demonstrated track record of dealing successfully with internal and external customers, and working knowledge of take-off software and contract preparation.
