About the Opportunity

We currently have an exciting opportunity for Financial Advisors and Senior Financial Advisors to join our team on a full-time basis at our Salmon Arm branches.

The Advisor/Senior Advisor will show aptitude as a trusted guide by analyzing and recognizing individual member needs and providing customized solutions through products and services that best meets those needs. In addition, they will provide appropriate financial advice, and develop and maintain relationships with external and internal members.

Some of your responsibilities as a Financial Advisor include, but are not limited to:

  • Creating relationships with members to understand their needs, and delivering personalized financial solutions
  • Providing advice on a full range of deposit and investment products, as well as personal and small business lending products and services
  • Interviewing loan applicants, analyzing financial information, and assessing credit
  • Taking a lead role in activities that build the membership base or have a positive impact on the community
  • Acknowledging and addressing member concerns and taking appropriate action to resolve them
  • Providing proactive, individualized financial advice, and achieving set portfolio targets
  • Fostering long-term relationships with follow-ups and referrals in order to support members on their financial journey
  • Collaborating with others to ensure collective success

As a Senior Financial Advisor, your responsibilities will also include:

  • Taking a lead role in mentoring and coaching team members
  • Completing and processing mutual fund investments and complex lending files

More About You

To qualify for this role, you will have prior experience in retail banking, in both lending and deposits. A combination of education and experience will also be considered. 

As our ideal candidate, you will have a passion for delivering exceptional service and a strong sales record with an aptitude for relationship building. You are a resourceful, superior communicator, and a natural problem solver. You are able to gain the confidence and trust of others through thoughtful, clear, and open communication, with integrity and a thorough understanding of the culture of the organization and the financial products we offer.

Furthermore, you are flexible and adaptable, with a passion for learning and continuous improvement. You will positively contribute to the success of your team and the organization. Most importantly, you have a genuine desire to make a positive impact in your community!

Financial Advisors will require the following qualifications:

  • One year of post-secondary education or equivalent
  • 2-4 years of financial experience
  • Demonstrated sales experience
  • Adept with technology, and the ability to learn new systems

Senior Financial Advisors will require the following qualifications:

  • Two years of post-secondary education or equivalent
  • 4-6 years progressive financial experience
  • Mutual funds license, or ability to register as a mutual funds representative within 3 months of attaining position
  • Demonstrated sales experience and leadership ability
  • Adept with technology, and the ability to learn new systems

About the Benefits

As a valued member of our independent financial institution, you will be awarded a highly competitive salary of $49.6K-$58.3K as an Advisor, or $55.6K-$69.5K as a Senior Advisor (negotiable based on experience).
