About the Opportunity
Currently, BCCA is seeking a candidate to become the Community Engagement Specialist for our Building Builders program across the construction industry in BC. This can be a fully remote or hybrid work model position, however, the successful candidate must reside in BC.
Reporting to the Building Builders Project Manager, you are responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating an innovative multi-year outreach plan. Your main responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Developing and implementing a strategic plan for promoting community connections with employers in the construction industry and potential mentees
- Working closely with the management team to ensure programs are resourced and delivered following best practices to achieve their targets
- Planning and scheduling events such as webinars, Zoom meetings, and in-person meetings and conferences (COVID-19 permitting) with employer/mentor in the Construction industry and Manufacturers Trades
- Engaging employer-mentor partners in Construction and Manufactured Trades to provide training and experiences to mentees
- Identifying potential community partners
- Creating and coordinating content for webpages, social media, and other marketing and communications channels and materials including print assets relative to target audiences
- Understanding and using the company’s social listening tools and channel reporting analytics to generate insights.
- Marketing support such as attending Career Fairs
- Other duties, as required, to support the Marketing team and the Building Builders program
About You
To qualify, you will need at least 5 years of experience in Human Resources, Labour/Employee Relations, People and Culture Management, or Community Outreach. Experience working with a diverse clientele is also essential. In addition, the successful candidate must be able to pass a criminal record check.
Skills, experience, and background in the following will be considered strong assets:
- Experience in community engagement and partnership development
- Writing and editing content for web and print
- Marketing and communications experience
- Social media campaign management
- Familiarity with the construction industry
- Post-secondary education in Business or Marketing
