About the Opportunity
Currently, we are looking for a talented and motivated Intermediate to Senior Interior Designer to work in our Vancouver, BC studio on a full-time basis. In this role, you will collaborate with the project architect to develop interior design concepts, and lead the project both creatively and technically, through to completion.
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Preparing and leading client presentations and guiding the process according to FdVA standards
- Conceptualizing and sketching design concepts, and producing construction drawing sets
- Working closely with clients to ensure the design meets their needs and taste
- Setting a timeline for the completion of an interior design project, in line with client's realistic set deadlines
- Collaborating with our internal team in creating budgets to determine cost of completion and project requirements
- Sourcing materials and products as specified in the drawings
- Inspecting design during construction and after completion to ensure the client goals have been met
- Contributing to the projects at hand, both creatively and technically
About You
To qualify, you will need at least 5 years experience in the local custom home design field, along with:
- Post-secondary diploma in Interior Design or related studies from an CIDA-accredited institution (or similar)
- Proficiency in CAD and 3D modelling programs (required)
- Working knowledge of Vectorworks and Sketchup (asset)
- Portfolio of design work, preferably in custom home design industry or allied fields, such as hospitality
- Strong background in design, architecture, and construction of single family homes
- A working knowledge of BC building codes, standards, trades and suppliers
- Experience working in hospitality and single-family residential projects, with a focus in modern design
- Ability to produce a complete ID package including:concept development, specifications, ID construction drawings, and custom millwork documentation.
To qualify as an intermediate/senior member of our design team, we are looking for a motivated candidate with a creative eye for detail, great presentation skills, and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines at once. You will be energetic and bring fun and creative ideas to the team, along with technical knowledge.
