About the Opportunity

Kalrob Machining Ltd. currently has exciting opportunities for multiple Manual Machinists/Millwrights/Apprentices to join our team in Picture Butte, AB on a full-time basis. The successful candidates will be working in our general machine, welding, and fabricating shop that specializes in the agriculture, construction, and manufacturing industries.

Your more typical day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Setting up and operating manual lathes, boring mills, broaching machines, drill presses, milling machines, surface grinders, metal cutting saws, tapping machines, and tool grinders
  • Reading and understanding charts and tables
  • Planning the sequence of operations required for assigned projects
  • Repairing machine tools and parts
  • Fitting and assembling components to close tolerances
  • Interpreting blueprints and drawings
  • Verifying measurements and parts with precision measuring tools

More About You

In order to qualify for this role, you will need experience in using conventional manual machines (not CNC). All levels of Manual Machinists (Apprentices or Journeyperson) and candidates with a Millwright background are welcome to apply. Experience with hydraulic cylinder repair and other heavy equipment (agriculture, construction, and oilfield) are strong assets.

As our ideal candidate, you have good communication skills (both verbal and written), with the ability to confidently work independently and as part of a team. You are willing to learn, with a positive "can-do" attitude. Moreover, you take pride in your work, while being a critical thinker, problem-solver, and customer-oriented. You possess strong attention to detail, accuracy, and multitasking skills in order to thrive in a busy shop environment.

Above all, you are flexible and adaptable, with a strong mechanical aptitude, and eager to contribute to a highly-skilled team within an established and trusted company.
