About the Opportunity
We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Intermediate Infrastructure Technician to join our team in Richmond, BC on a full-time basis (Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm).
Under general supervision, you will support the overall systems' infrastructure of the company. This includes the creation of solutions to provide support to other operations within the company and administration of network, compute, and storage hardware and software. More specifically, your essential duties and responsibilities will include:
- Administering physical infrastructure hardware and virtual clusters, including racking, cabling, and implementation of hardware platforms
- Monitoring and event alert management for hardware, ESXi, and environmental systems
- Patching and firmware updates
- Administering operating systems for physical and virtual servers
- Daily administration of Windows 2012 – 2019 servers, CentOS, and Oracle Linux
- Developing Powershell and Bash scripts
- Backup management and reporting
- Security patching and application health support
- Active directory moves, adds, and changes
- Monitoring and assisting with disaster recovery solutions, incident response planning, and SOPs
- Assisting in DR continuous improvements and readiness testing
- Maintaining technical documents and supporting knowledge base
- Monitoring cybersecurity platforms and liaising with network and security partners
- Assisting with overflow and relief support for helpdesk support services
- Endpoint installation and troubleshooting
- Exchange 365 support
- Assisting and liaising with application support teams
More About You
In order to qualify for this role, you must have a minimum of 2 years of related experience within Canada, along with post-secondary education in computer science or computer engineering, or a specialist certificate/diploma. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Previous experience with Cisco networking, Linux, and VMWare is preferred. A valid Driver’s license with access to a vehicle is also required.
Previous experience with any of the programs in our technology stack is considered an asset:
- Compute: EMC

- Network: Cisco Catalyst/Nexus, Meraki
- Wifi: Meraki, Aruba
- Mobility: iPhone, Android, Windows mobile for enterprise applications (developed & commercial applications)
- Virtualization: VMWare/vSAN, Zerto replication
- O/S: Microsoft Server 2012 – 2019, Oracle Linux, CentOS
- Cloud Inf.: AWS, Exchange/Office 365
- Database: Oracle, DB2, MS SQL Server
- Backup: Avamar, Veeam
- Collaboration: Cisco CallManager, Webex, MS Teams
- Env. Monitor: AV Tech
- Power Mgmt: APC UPS, Datacentre generators
- Ent. Apps: Oracle ERP (in-house), Sage 300, Truckmate TMS, Kronos TAS, Highjump WMS
- Security: full suite of network intrusion detection, MFA, behavioural end-point, email and web/DNS protection
